The coolest thing about Wild Horse Gun and Pawn is the eclectic cornucopia of items you will not see anywhere else. It’s a pawn shop you can take your mother to. She will probably find something practical or maybe just have a blast looking at things from her past.
Wild Horse Pawn is located on Main Street in Waldron, Arkansas, a small, historic town with a rich history. The perfect place to find the odd and unusual.
Wild Horse is owned by Roy Hoppmeyer who was born in New Orleans and has a very interesting life story. He has worked as a bouncer, shrimp boat captain, bartender, as well as a rough neck on the oil rigs. Following these ventures he started his own company selling cleaning chemicals for the poultry industry. It was about this time that he made a conscious choice to walk from the corporate world to start his own journey of enlightenment. Roy is now a Reiki Master, aura balancer and spends time in the state prison ministry sharing his knowledge about life and seeking a higher path.
If you are a “thrift store junkie” the Wild Horse Pawn will become your favorite store for the assortment of odd and unusual items. Looking to buy a gun…Roy has them. Want a cash register from 1890...he has one. Want a hand made table with stools that has been assembled from actual wagon wheels…its there. Perhaps you are searching for rare collectibles or antiques? Search no more because this is where they all reside. For a bit of southern culture you will even find a big metal sign that says “WELCOME REDNECKS.”
The doorman is a chocolate lab named Beaudreaux. You can’t have him because he is the mascot of the shop as well as the official greeter, but you can come in and give him a pat on the head and stay a while to see all that Roy has in store for you.
